Mindfulness, running, travel

An honest update

Well, well, well… its been a while, hasn’t it? I have to admit I’ve been pretty terrible on the blog writing front. As much as I’d normally beat myself up about this, I have a confession to make. Ive been having a pretty rough time with my mental health. Despite being on a trip of a lifetime and having endless adventures to write about and pearls of wisdom to share, my mental health has nonetheleless been enough an issue that I haven’t been able to muster the energy to sit down in front of my keyboard for any extended period of time.

Whilst a full update on all my travel adventures will follow shortly – because in spite of, or perhaps in tandem with everything else, I still have been having a great time – I just thought I’d put this post out there in an attempt at honestly, transparency, and most importantly courage. Travelling is a intense time, with the highest of highs, and sometimes, the lowest of lows – people just don’t talk about the lows that much!

That being said, I don’t want anyone to worry about me. Honestly, I have been having the best time. As a quick summary, here’s just some of the adventures I’ve had the luck to experience:

⁃ Seeing the Milky Way from an island on Lake Titicaca, Peru

⁃ Hiking for 5 days through glaciers and rainforest to reach Machu Picchu

⁃ Scaling an actual waterfall in only my running shoes – and surviving

⁃ Running along Copacabana Beach in Rio

⁃ Hiking to one of Rios highest peaks to watch sunset over the city

⁃ Getting two spontaneous piercings

⁃ Seeing penguins and sea lions

⁃ Sandbuggying through the dunes to an oasis in the desert

So whilst I’m being honest about my mental health, absolutely don’t worry about me. I will be back into the swing of things very soon, and cant wait to share more updates with you!

Lots of love,

Pippa
