52 for 52 – again!

One of my 2017 Goals was to read 52 books in a year, averaging 1 book a week. I’m pleased to say that I did it!Β  I’ll share the whole list shortly, but I plan on doing the same in 2018 and I’m really excited about it!

So my question is – what book would you recommend I read?

I’m looking for a variety of fiction and non-fiction; but ultimately I want books I can really lose myself in!

Lots of love,

Pippa

  1. May have mentioned some of these last time around, but anything by Robert McFarlane, Roger Deakin, Richard Mabey or Richard Adams. Adams was of course famous for Shardik and Watership Down, but for something a little meatier, try Plague Dogs or Girl on a Swing. Pretty sure you read Born to Run by Christopher McDougall last year.

      1. I really liked White Teeth (her debut), but NW was a neat kind of Dubliners text. I got the feeling I got to know a few different side of people. I’m now starting On Beauty, and I like that one too. White Teeth is easy to fly through, though. I’d recommend that one first!

  2. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Night Watch (and the rest of the series) by Sergei Lukyanenko, and The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, and pretty much everything by Tanya Huff! Books are the best, well done for reaching your target.

  3. “Freedom In Exile” by the Dalai Lama and for pure comedic value “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – The Complete Trilogy of Five”. Running books I’d look at “Eat & Run” by Scott Jurek and perhaps “Feet in the clouds” by Richard Askwith to get an idea of what us nutty fell runners get up to; plus it’s just a good read πŸ™‚
