What happened to November?!

As I write this very post, I am sat in a coffee shop, drinking a basic bitch Christmas drink and listening to festive music. How the hell is it already December?! I mean, seriously, what happened to this year?

I’m not going to lie, this year has been one of the most challenging years of my life, and I’m relieved to be coming out the other side of it! So without further ado, here’s my November update:

Triathlon training is actually happening. Even though I bought my bike last month I’ve been hesitant to call myself a cyclist, let alone a triathlete. But I’ve been getting out there on the streets of London and I’m even starting to feel some quad muscle growing underneath it all!

I had a revelation with my swim technique. Swim training was a struggle for me all this month; that is, up until last week. I started using a pull buoy for drills, and now when I swim ‘natural’ I’ve really noticed a difference in my technique! My fitness in the water has also improved, and I can now swim laps with far fewer breaks than before. Yay for the little victories!

I’ve been loving losing myself in a good film. I get a free cinema ticket each week through my Vitality insurance, which means I get to experience film in the cinema. I also get to see a wider variety of films, now that wasting my money isn’t a worry! I recently saw the Steve Jobs biopic which was fascinating, if not a little frustrating to watch!

(Did I mention there’s free Starbucks too?!)

I’m struggling with the self employed life. Whilst business is going well with Vitalty, working from home all day is driving me a tad insane. As a result I’m looking for new projects and hobbies to keep me out of trouble!

Winter is kicking my butt! It’s been really tough training so far in the colder weather; it’s been windy as well as cold, and I’ve found my body temperature drops once I actually stop running. And so, a rather large Decathlon order happened. So much money, no regrets.

I’m looking forward to the festive season. This time last year I’d just been rather cruelly dumped, leaving me miserable and Scrooge-like; not the best way to spend your first Christmas in London! Fast forward to this year, and I’m fully looking forward to ice skating, mince pies, and all the mushy sentimental stuff! Still though, don’t go OTT with the public romancing! (Just kidding. But not really.)

Tell me, what’s your favorite thing been about November? Are you looking forward to the holiday season?

Lots of love,

Pippa

    1. My trials and tribulations in triathlon training will make for great comedy, I’m sure! I’m also training for a spring marathon (although I haven’t ‘officially’ started) so I’ll be keeping an eye out for your progress πŸ™‚

Trying to plan for my next marathon and feeling so inspired by your triathlon training….I have a bike, but I don’t know how I feel about the swimming!!!! I’m not a fan of open water….. Can’t wait to follow your journey!
